Company History
Founded in 1958 by a UC Berkley engineer, Dunstone's core business today, heat shrinkable polyester tape, remains the same one that helped establish the company as an innovative producer of tapes and films for emerging high-tech applications. Owned and operated by the Kryder family for 47 years, in 2005, Dunstone was purchased by Electrolock, Inc., a company well established as a distributor and manufacturer of high performance materials for high-voltage electrical, thermal insulation, and mechanical applications. In 2008, Dunstone proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Today
Dunstone's corporate headquarters are in Charlotte, NC, where the company manufactures and distributes its products globally. The company also designs and builds its own production equipment which gives the firm flexibility and responsiveness when responding to customer needs. Dunstone's standard product offering includes polyester and polyimide heat-shrinkable tapes for various temperature requirements, also, we've recently added a new line of heat shrinkable tubing, made from polyester or the high temperature release film ETFE. Outside of the standard product offering, we are able to customize shrink percentages, roll lengths, and put up sizes to suit most customer's needs. At Dunstone, we want to help solve your problem with our unique material solutions. If your application requirements are outside of what you see on this website, please contact us to discuss the specific performance characteristics that you need in a material.
